On the 30 August 2006 the cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo in Western Australia initiated thinklearn to help develop the region as an economic centre for small business innovation. thinklearn’s uniqueness is rethink, developed by the de Bono Institute for South Australian businesses. The City of Joondalup has teamed up with POWA Institute and its alliance with the institute to develop a rethink programme for thinklearn.
Rethink
Learn: The particpants will learn de Bono’s thinking tools including Lateral Thinking™, for creating new ideas and concepts and focusing on business issues more mindfully.
Apply: Coached in the application of the new thinking tools, participants will apply these tools to their strategic business development. They will gain confidence in the use of Lateral Thinking™ and Serious Creativity to invent more valuable business processes.
Extend: Applying their new thinking skills in their personal learning, participants will determine their own topics for knowledge seminars, delivered by West Coast TAFE. They will also determine personal priorities for business mentoring, provided by the North West Metro Small Business Centre.
Exchange: thinklearn business networking will provide participants with the opportunity to become entrepreneurial thought leaders, driving the exchange of new ideas throughout the North West Metro business community.
